The Jed Project
For many years I've been carrying out various investigations into the town, villages and landscape around where I live. I've done this mainly by means of sound recordings and text, latterly with photography, short film and performance. This is now The Jed Project, ostensibly an arts, anthropology, natural and social history project of discovery from the source to the mouth of the Jed River, examining the river basin and the people who live here, the problematics of landscape, agriculture, small town life and politics. I want it to be collaborative so I'm inviting artists, writers, storytellers and researchers to join me as the project grows legs and wings. Look out for updates in my blog.
The project has found fresh pastures in the Fallow Land Project, details of which you can find on my blog. This is an exciting development largely because it allows me to organise events for people, without which a project like this will struggle. |
