Fetlock Deep was a multi-media artistic celebration of equestrian culture in the Scottish Borders. Initiated and funded by The Eastgate Theatre in Peebles, the project set out to engage with locals, visitors and various community groups on themes around the very strong equestrian culture in the Scottish Borders.
In collaboration with Claire Pençak, Catriona Taylor and Caroline Adam, I contributed by carrying out a series of field recordings and recorded interviews around the general topic of equestrian culture, presenting these at equestrian and rural events and as part of a sound installation for the exhibition Diamonds and Hoof Oil at The Eastgate Theatre, Peebles in November 2012.
Recordings were taken at working farms, equestrian centres, stables and sports events.
