Breathing Space

Breathing Space was my name for a self-directed residency in Jedburgh's Old Bakery. Dance and movement artist Clare Pencak had the upper floor, I the middle floor of this massive space in the town. It was either too cold or too hot, leaky when it rained, and had little in the way of fittings or furnishings. But it was spacious and opened many doors as an experimental space. Clare managed to create a beautiful dance studio upstairs. I filled my bit with all manner of objects and spent the best part of six months performing, generating and recording sounds or lying on the floor thinking about what to do next.
