Thanks for visiting my blog pages. I've been busy reorganising all my work across music, film and photography. My new blog, which I hope to update weekly, will offer readers insights into new projects, diary excerpts, updates on research audio and video links to projects both new and in-progress. As always, comments and discussion are welcome.
To get us started here's a picture from my recent photographic studies on still life. It's something of a test shot to see how things look, which is why so many of us do photography after all is it not? After Christmas 2020 I made a space for table photography in the outer room of the studio with backdrops and soft natural light. To begin with I've split my research into experiments in form, colour and distribution. This colour study, inspired by Jan Vermeer incidentally (who could have guessed?) uses a polished engraved brass Indian tray with found plastics and a red cushion. All under natural light coming in from the right. I'm still experimenting but I reckon there's a series or two in the pipeline, of which more soon.
